Great atmosphere, great experience. Really tasty food. I would highly recommend them.
MoreMonkeypod Jam is a treasure that you don't want to miss! Freshest, locally grown ingredients are used to make the yummiest jams, jellies, compotes and sauces. Be sure to taste test to see which you will want to ship home!! Great wraps / sandwiches and the baked goods / pastries are to die for. We found Monkeypod on our first visit in 2018 and made sure we visited again this year (twice)!!!
MoreVery friendly wonderful selection of Jams a must see if in Kauai
Good coffee, good scones, great lilikoi curd!
Great local jam! You get to try some flavors you have never heard of. The customer service is amazing too.
MoreLots of nicely packaged jams, they will ship packages and were very friendly and accommodating. They also have a bakery with various treats and sandwiches. The carrot cake is great. A little pricey.
MoreDelightful little shop with a wide variety of jams, all made with locally grown ingredients. They'll give you samples of any you want, plus of the few other canned things like the great white pineapple salsa we got. Also some yummy baked goods and coffee.Super friendly people and great food - thanks!
MoreDelicious jam, good bagels and great coffee! Everything is home made and from local farmers - simply very very good!
MoreI'm so happy I found this place online! Desperately wanted to leave a review but I forgot what your place was called. Took me 30 minutes to backtrack on our route on Maps to find you! Last week we were on our way to hike in Waimea. I have celiac disease and every place we passed was either not accommodating of a gluten free dish or wasn't open. You guys were pretty much my last hope before a 3 hour hike and I was already feeling weak from not eating! You talked to your chef and was able to turn a sandwich into a salad to accommodate my gluten free needs and I am forever grateful! Thank you so much for being flexible! And not that it matters, because I was going to eat it either way, but the salad was one of the best I ever had!
MoreSecond visit was amazing! Sandwiches are spectacular.
Delicious jams, pastries, sandwiches, and holy cow the lemonade! Some friends and I did a jam tasting, and we were not disappointed. High quality, fresh ingredients from Kauai, and the owner is wonderful. Please support this business and have some tasty things!
MoreThis is a great alternative to other breakfast places in Kalaheo. The coffee is fantastic and their new breakfast and lunch menus are amazing. Try the foxy loxy and anything with the homemade jams. Just delicious. Also really appreciate that they use an compostable alternative to plastic straws!
MoreNice little unique cafe wit lots of different kinds of jam!
Amazing little spot! I love the fact they only use things from the island!
We had several baked goods and a coffee here, and everything was incredible. All the baked goods are made on premises, and the owner was incredibly nice and helpful. A must stop if driving around Kauai.
MoreThis place is great! We are visiting from the mainland and are so happy we found this gem! The coffee, breakfast wrap and pastries are delicious and they also have wonderful jams! They let you try any of the jams you want and are super friendly! We ended up buying the papaya vanilla jam. Do yourself a favor and definitely check this place out, you will not be disappointed!!
MoreYou will be glad you visited! I dare anyone to leave without something after sampling their delicious offerings. So warm and friendly we'll be back!
MoreI don't think it is on the menu but I had the best grilled cheese sandwich of my life here. It's made with a tomato jam that's homemade and you can buy there as well.
MoreIf you like originality then you will love the monkeypod.
Super preserved jams and jellies and a great bistro menu.
Great coffee and great customer service. We love the coffee cake too!
Nice place. Hope open more hours
Incredible chiffon pie! And a very tasty sandwich too!
Visited for a tasting that was advertised thru Groupon. What a treat. The owner (Aletha Thomas) walked us thru all of her various products and then we were allowed a tasting. This establishment caters to making great tasting products while also being completely in touch with local growers. A fantastic treat was the Spiced Tomato Jam and the Mango Chutney. This is a must visit location to pick up some great tasting treats.
MoreExcellent Americano coffee and everything bagel with lox.
Such wonderful goodies!!! The store offers many more flavors to try and buy but will not give the 3 for 30.00 discount you get at the Farmer's Markets, instead it is 42.00. If you know what you like, best to skip the store and find the Farmer's Markets for a great deal.
MoreAdorable shop. Yummy teats and free samples.
Amazing breakfast and jams. Super nice owner and staff
Lid on both my jars had rust. When I contacted them and provided images, I didn’t even get an apology. I was even told, “That’s what happens here in Hawaii...”which is not true. The jars were a Christmas gift and I didn’t want to tell the person that gifted them. What a horrible experience. I’m all about buying locally and supporting local businesses, but this is one that doesn’t deserve it. The merchandise is overpriced to begin with; I guess a case of Botulism is an added bonus.
MoreSo delicious! all kinds of good stuff!
A very nice cafe with a vast variety of jams and jellies with local island fruit. Tastings available with $5.00 shipping for 12 items.
MoreWe first purchased Aletha’s preserves at the Grand Hyatt Kauai when she was starting out, so when we heard she’d opened her shop in Lawai we had to check it out. My husband had the cheese steak sandwich, which he enjoyed, and I had the curry chicken wrap, which was to die for! The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and the staff helpful and informative. Visit Monkeypod Jam! It should be on your not-to-be-missed list.
MoreWe loved this place ! The food is EXCELLENT. We had breakfast there a couple of times. Try the bagel egg/bacon sandwich , the empanadas, the bars and baked goods...all delicious . The women who work there ( don't know if they own it or not ) are very friendly and welcoming. They also display and sell some local artisanal items which are really lovely plus a great selection of their own jams & preserved condiments. Check it out you won't be disappointed !
MorePersonal favorites of mine: the Calamansi Curd (so good!), the Mango Chutney, the Lilikoi Curd, and of course the Papaya Vanilla jam. Everything is delicious and they have really interesting and original combos. I'm excited to try the lemon sage I bought this trip on fish or chicken soon! Prices reflect the quality and aren't any more expensive than the rest of Kauai. Definitely worth a stop!
MoreGreat little shop with limited food menu, baked goods and lots of unique jams. Great for gifts and they mail them too. Try the jelly and cheese sampler plate - delicious. Worth a try.
MoreOwners are really friendly, great service and amazing food!
Decent food and coffee. Picked up a couple sandwiches to have later for lunch after our hikes at Wiamea Canyon and also grabbed a couple breakfast burritos. It was slightly expensive (about $40 all up including a coffee) but both the burrito and the sandwich were delicious. It was a pity the girl that served us was unfriendly and seemed like she didn't want to be there. A smile would have been nice.
MoreReally bougie place out in the middle of a small village by the main road, but it's so nice. It's a really upscale coffee shop with really high prices and a lot of cool decorations. Definitely a millennial kind of place, and it also offers classes and meet ups.
MoreMy husband and I visited this wonderful cafe several times on our honeymoon in Kauai. They hands down have the best breakfast and lunch on the South side of the island. Coming from California, we are used to farm-to-table brunch and this exceeded anything we could ask for. Aletha and her staff also let us sample as many homemade jams, pickles and condiments as we desired. Do yourself a favor and give this place a visit! You will have to leave room in your suitcase to bring some treats home... our favorite is the white pineapple pepper jelly. Update: we placed an order to stock up on some preserves to brighten our quarantine. Aletha sent us a sweet note and had our order shipped out the same day.
MoreLocal shop with a variety of specialty, island grown flavors in curds, jellies and canned produce that will make a tasty addition to any meal.
MoreDelicious!! And great flavors to choose from
Jam is pretty amazing but God it is expensive. $11-$15 per bottle. Worth a try if you're in town but it's just too much.
MoreGreat service. The cashier was really kind and try the egg salad, its very good.
Papaya vanilla is my jam! It didnt sound like something I'd like, but I need more! Also loved the mango chutney, and grapefruit marmalade. Hoping to see the mango cream cheese brownie in the case at the beginning of the August when we return!
Moreperfect little bakery and coffee stop!
Friendly, accomodating owner. We were there for a special group event. Fun
Awesome little Cafe. Love their selection of jams and their espresso is solid!!
Perfect stop for a lovely bite of beautifully, and artfully inspired treats. Dont be fooled though.. fatastic sandwhiches, breakfast burritos and more (as well). P.S. try the lime bar!
MoreMy daughter and I shared the Chicken Curry wrap today. It was delicious. Thanks for a yummy lunch.
MoreBeautiful store front with unique jams, curds, and marmalades. All fruits are local to the island and sourced from countless local farmers. There are numerous breakfast and a handful of lunch options. Prices are what you would expect for home made from scratch foods. Would recommend highly, visited during the South shore Tasting Kauai tour
